Secure Your Network
Knoxville, TN, March 3, 2005 - SNMP Research announces EPIC™ CLI, a ready-to-use, easily extendable, command line interface toolkit which provides multi-protocol access to configure network devices. EPIC CLI is SNMP Research's answer for a ready-to-use CLI which is accessed through a serial port or a Telnet session. The developer can add commands to create a customized CLI for a device.
EPIC CLI provides the following features:
The CLI uses the EMANATE® Protocol Interface Component (EPIC) Subsystem to retrieve management information and may be accessed through a serial port or a Telnet session. EPIC is a protocol interface component for the EMANATE agent architecture. An EPIC allows one non-SNMP application to submit SNMP Get and Set requests to an SNMP Agent without the use of SNMP or UDP. EPIC allows the requests to be secured using the same access control technology available with SNMPv3: the View-based Access Control Model (VACM) security and view-access subsystems. EPIC is a long-standing member of the SNMP Research product family that has provided the software developer with a common protocol interface to create custom applications.
EPIC CLI is designed for embedded systems but can be used on
most popular open systems.
